Church Administrative Assistant

Position Description
Manages functions of church office and acts as resource for church information exchange.

• Prepare bi-weekly newsletter that includes calendar, prayer list, information for various events and   ways to participate. Email or print and distribute.
• Prepare weekly bulletins by gathering information, drafting, editing and copying.
• Post events on Facebook, update it weekly, and maintain the church website.
• Answer phone and check for messages, respond as able or refer to someone else.
• Keep the church building use calendar.
• Update bulletin board in conjunction with the Outreach and Social Justice Board.
• Check email, respond as appropriate or refer.
• Make appointments for the pastor.
• Make appointments for service people.
• Maintain office equipment, supplies and filing.

Be the source of information for the church, incoming and outgoing.
Promote safety of the church.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, browsers and email programs
Demonstrated organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Requirements

High school diploma
Communicate effectively in person, by phone, text and email
Maintain a regular schedule

Physical Requirements
Ability to use stairs and reach overhead

The duties of this job are mainly in the church office, but may be in other areas of the church. During this position’s office hours there will rarely be other church employees in the building, but there may be groups meeting in the lower level and occasional visitors.

Immediate need for
​Church Administrative Assistant 

We are looking for an office support person. 12 hours per week. $12.00 - $15.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Seeking a warm, outgoing person, able to interact with many different personalities, self-directed, well organized and detail oriented. Confidentiality is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based communication.
